England

London

A modern, vibrant, and diverse city with lots to see and plenty to do.

Activities:

  • Shakespeare’s Globe -

    • In Short: Shakespeare plays performed in the round

    • At Length: A wonderful introduction to London. They have two shows a day that bring Shakespeare to life in the way he was meant to be performed. There are $5 tickets for a standing crowd to maintain authenticity, and you can bring your own food or wine into the theater. The actors are constantly interacting with the audience. It's a unique experience worth trying.

  • Tate Modern -

    • In Short: Modern art

    • At Length: A modern art museum next to the Globe and across from St. Pauls. It is a beautiful building and has an interesting collection.

  • St. Paul’s Cathedral -

    • In Short: Beautiful, old cathedral with catacombs

    • At Length: This beautiful church is across the Millennium Bridge (pedestrian bridge). It is worth buying a ticket to enter because there are ancient catacombs underneath this church that are neat to see.

  • The British Museum -

    • In Short: A huge museum with tons of artifacts

    • At Length: This museum feels less like a museum and more like a walk through history. It is massive - in size and collection. They have the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles, and so much more.
